Rolex has been producing solid gold versions of the GMT-Master with a brown dial and brown inserts since the very beginning of the collection, these all-brown bezels are often referred to by some collectors as “Root Beer bezels” but are actually judges. 1675/3 marked the first use of a two-tone, brown and gold bezel, marking the true beginning of the Root Beer GMT. Other notable features of this watch include the matching brown dial and gold hour markers, the shape of which eventually led to their “nipple dial” moniker.
